Colas Droin joined Hydroclimat in 2025 as a data scientist and AI developer. With a PhD from EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland), Colas has over eight years’ experience in mathematical modeling and data science, mainly acquired in research laboratories, including CERN.

At Hydroclimat, Colas Droin designs, implements and optimizes machine learning algorithms applied to data from climate models and satellite observations. It also develops cloud pipelines for processing large volumes of data, and creates intuitive graphical interfaces to facilitate their exploration. Finally, Colas Droin contributes to the optimization of climate models by helping to speed up numerical simulations through the use of approximation and computational complexity reduction techniques.

His work aims to make research tools more effective, accessible and adapted to the challenges of climate change.
