Internship: Water resources and climate change

Job description

We are looking for a trainee for a minimum of 6 months, whose main task will be to assist local authorities and public stakeholders with prospective studies on water and climate change.

Your missions:

Production of technical studies, analyses and deliverables on the state of knowledge on climate and water resources, and their future evolution in the context of climate change.

The main skill sought for this recruitment concerns the field of hydrological studies with the following tasks:

Collection, processing and analysis of hydroclimatic data to develop prospective scenarios for the evolution of resources and uses under the constraint of climate change;
Hydrological/rainfall-flow modelling ;
Analysis of water uses.

Depending on your profile and our customers’ requests and orders, other types of assignment may be added to the above, in particular for climate resilience projects.

At the same time, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the firm’s internal activities in terms of :

Recruitment qualifications :

Graduate student (BAC+4 or BAC+5) / ENSAT, ENGEES, AgroParisTech or other school in Water Engineering, Climate Sciences and Environmental Sciences;
Interest in climate change adaptation in the water sector;
Programming skills (Python, matlab, R);
GIS tools (Qgis, ArcGis, etc.).

Plus points:

Good knowledge of climate and water databases (HUBEAU, ADES, EXPLORE2, TRACC);
Good knowledge of the university environment and research methods;
Knowledge of other water-related fields: hydrogeology and hydromorphology, water quality, etc.
Complementary skills in climate and adaptation;
Skills or interest in working on other departmental themes, in support of project managers;

Curious, autonomous and rigorous, with an analytical and synthesizing mind, organized;
Team spirit;
Powerful suggestions;
Excellent writing and communication skills.

Additional recruitment information:

Duration: 6 months
Start date: early 2025
Location: Aubagne (15min by TER from Marseille center) in a young and dynamic team
Gratuity / Remuneration: between €1,000 and €1,300 gross/month
Meals: Ticket Restaurant
Travail à domicile occasionnel (2 jours de télétravail par semaine)
Transport: 50% reimbursement of transport passes
