We are looking for a Data as a Service (DaaS) Sales Manager for Climate Data Sales and Geoservices, with the following main responsibilities:
- Sales strategy development: Develop and implement a sales strategy for DaaS solutions in climatology and geoservices.
- Customer prospecting and acquisition: Identify and approach potential customers (companies, institutions, local authorities) in need of climate databases and geospatial services.
- Customer management and loyalty: Build strong relationships with existing customers and ensure their satisfaction to foster retention and upselling.
- Development of commercial offers: Design offers adapted to market needs in collaboration with technical and marketing teams.
- Steering commercial negotiations: Leading discussions with customers and partners to conclude profitable contracts.
- Digital strategy and web acquisition: Develop and optimize online sales strategies, including digital marketing campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO/SEA) and web-based customer acquisition.
- Market watch and analysis: Monitor changes in needs for climate data and geoservices to adapt sales strategy.
Coordination with in-house teams: work closely with technical, R&D and marketing teams to ensure alignment of offerings with customer needs.
- Representing the company: Participate in conferences, trade shows and industry events to promote the company’s services.
Qualifications
Degree in business, engineering, data science or related field (Bac +5, Master’s, MBA).
Recommended training :
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or Business Strategy (HEC Paris, ESSEC, ESCP, INSEAD, Université Paris-Saclay, CentraleSupélec, Télécom Paris).
- Engineering degree with specialization in data science or the environment (Polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, INSA, ENSG, AgroParisTech).
- MBA in Technology Management, Business Development or Innovation (HEC, EDHEC, ESCP, INSEAD).
- Additional training in digital marketing and web strategy (Google Digital Garage, Growth Hacking School, MBA Digital Marketing).
- Significant experience (minimum 5 years) in selling data-driven solutions, ideally in the climate or geospatial field.
- An established professional network in the environmental, community, industrial and financial sectors.
- Experience in managing sales teams and strategic projects.
- Technical skills required
- Solid experience in selling Data as a Service (DaaS) solutions and/or climate data.
- In-depth knowledge of climate and geospatial data technologies.
- Mastery of B2B sales and key account negotiation techniques.
- Understanding of environmental and regulatory issues related to climate data.
- Digital marketing skills: SEO, SEA, online advertising campaigns, inbound marketing.
- Experience in web strategy and customer acquisition via digital platforms.
Tools and Work Environments
- CRM: Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent.
- Data visualization and analysis tools: QGIS, ArcGIS, Python, Power BI.
- Office suite: Microsoft Office, Google Workspace.
